Pokemon games in future should give you the option to choose which mons appear in your playthrough via a toggle-list. Any that are unchecked won't appear in the game and all instances will be replaced with another random mon. That way you can avoid having to deal with busted/poorly designed ones and also avoid searing your eyes with especially ugly designs.
