I still don't really get why they chose an eel of all things to make it into an electric type with no weaknesses. Water/Electric would have obviously fitted it way better. It's also pretty arbitrary how they say it "levitates", considering its animations are the same as any other fish pokemon.

Living in water =/= water type and Eelektross' original spritework (as well as his out of combat 3D animations) looked perfectly suited for being on land, the whole flying windsock thing was made for Sky Battles +GF being too lazy to give him a grounded combat animation after the fact.

Electromagnetic cave. It, and it's evolutionary line, hover in the air. It's as though you think Magnemite should be flying-type because it's always floating in the air.

people like to shit on Physical Electric types but if they cut Eelektross' Special Attack so they could boost it's Defenses and Physical Attack, then it could work
it has a setup move (Coil) and and HP recovery move that gets boosted from said setup (Drain Punch) and shit ton of other Physical Attacks which I believe is already more than what the other Physical Electric types get. probably wouldn't automatically put it in OU but it could still be interesting

This is only because Game Freak is a stingy little fuck when it comes to physical Electric-type moves being exclusive to singular Pokemon.

Volt Tackle can be wide spread like Wild Charge.
Plasma Fists can be given to Electivire.
Bolt Beak can be given to Kilowattrel.

Ah yes. I remember when Ghost/Dark had the neat little effect of no weaknesses too. And they were balanced accordingly. And then Fairy balance patch came, and GF forgot to buff Spiritomb and Sableye.
