Probably palkia and dialga. They basically just pop out of the skys asshole then its over. Also saying cosmog is forgettable just means you didnt play the games (whats new with /vp/ shitposters), cosmog is a huge focus on the story so there no way your gonna forget about em.

Sogalio and Lunala do take the cake there, with the X and Y legendaries taking the runner up. They really don’t reference them much in the story until the very last moment and thus are just kind of there, unlike Gen 3-5 + 7-8 legendaries who are absolutely pivotal in their stories.
Mewtwo and Lugia were made very notable in side content with Ho-Oh riding along Lugia’s Tailwind

In this appraisal, I differentiate cosmog from its evolutions. Cosmog I remember while outside of the box art, Sogaleo and Lunala are just kind of “oh yea they are a thing” maybe it would have been helped if Sogaleo was Fire/Steel instead to reinforce a connection with the Sun and be a more interesting type in general.

they are literally just fucking boring wolves with nonsense patterns and colors slapped on, with nonsense names to boot. they're barely even differentiable from each other there's nothing setting them apart other than the games they're advertising

i don't like the transformer final form though, i only like the original snake form and the flatworm cells, but i REALLY like them so it cancels out the other two lackluster forms
i also just generally like the concept of a legendary being comprised of many sapient cells

Outside of gens 5 and 9, most of the box legendaries follow a pattern of being mentioned once or twice during the actual story, showing up for a cutscene + battle around the 7th gym, and then never being addressed again.

Celebi and Rayquaza are my favs.
Most forgettable are probably Dialga, Palkia and in extension Arceus and Giratina (Have not played Gen 8+9 yet though), they are supposed to be the Gods but a level 1 Gastly with destiny bound could KO one.

It's just over the top to have them as capturable pokemon. Maybe they are "foreattable" but I always view them as the worst legendaries.

Their names are literally just the Japanese pronunciation of "The Cyan" and "The Magenta". They explained in an interview that the idea was that these Pokemon have been randomly sighted throughout the Galar region for centuries, but 90% of the sightings were just people catching a glimpse of a cyan/magenta Pokemon and not being able to make out what it was. So people began to call these unknown Pokemon "The Cyan" and "The Magenta", until the name stuck.
