Does it seem weird to you that “local legends” like Calyrix and Zacian has a stat total parity with literal deities like Kyogre, Palkia and Yveltal and the minmaxed stats to be outright stronger than them?

Why would a creature that mostly stays within the borders of its own region be "hard capped" in terms of power compared to gods who have impacted the world on a global scale? That's like saying Goku is weaker than the Kais despite them being gods who have influenced the creation of life.
Also, being a god doesn't inherently mean shit, would you have a problem with Mewtwo being as strong as Groudon despite it being born in a lab?

Either way, not only shouldn’t Goku be stronger than actual deities, but he’s also factually weaker than other deities anyways. Turns out even Dragon Ball has a sense not to let Alien Monkey Guy be as strong as the fucking creater of the Multiverse or the God of fucking Distruction.
Makes no sense why King Aurther in giant dog form should be about as strong or even stronger than a deity that controls fucking time itself.

It's super common in many franchises actually.
One of the few exceptions is probably Elder Scrolls where everything in existence is a subgradient of the omnipresent godhead since reality is part of the godhead's infinite conscioussnes.

Base stats in Pokemon are an instance of gameplay and story segregation. Doing so ultimately proves to be better for the franchise. Otherwise, species such as Arceus and its six children would be nigh untouchable in battle. Furthermore, nothing said that a Pokemon needs to be an almighty deity spanning across the world or several regions in order to be powerful, hence the existence of the Psuedo Legendaries and many other species.

Set rotation in card games works by having only newer cards. Old cards eventually become unusable.
Totally different to the dexcut which is the same roster of mons rotating throgout the games.
Landorus HAS to be in a game, even if not all of them.

All of this assuming you can't use a filter of course, which is another thing you should explain to justift the dexcut.

Everybody know this but, Goku is based on Sun Wukong from Journey to the West and Sun is literally a stone monkey that have powers that makes him just as powerful or more so than the gods in the book. It's not that hard to see the connection.

I know this wasn't the original point being made, but I do greatly dislike the Legendary collection marathons nearly every game mainline game now includes. Some of the older mainline games had a selection of Legendary Pokemon available within them, often with some form of side quest to go along with them. These sample pools of Legendary species along with their side quests are a feature I miss greatly. Legends Arceus had them to some capacity, which was quite appreciated.

In my very specific case, I like it. I'm filling out an all-pokeball living dex(when possible) and being able to catch a handful of legendaries in just a couple of games beats having to play every single game to completion.
