>>53972223>no good moves to take advantage ofDepends on the game. This is purely from an in-game perspective where fly and no held item are much better.
>GSCNo offensive moves whatsoever. Can't even learn fly or sludge bomb. He's only good for trapping the roaming legends with mean look + hypnosis.
>RSESludge bomb halfway through the game is nuts. Also has fly.
>FRLGCan't be obtained until the postgame. Can't learn sludge bomb until the end of the postgame. The Zubat line is infamously terrible in this game, but Crobat will eventually become just as strong as in RSE just in time for the second round of the pokemon league.
>DPPPoison and flying STABs traded base power. Fly has 90 base power while cross poison, his new physical poison move, only has 70 base power. This also applies to the later gens where acrobatics is no longer learned via level up.
>Gens 5 and 6Unga bunga acrobatics spam. Everything that resists it in BW2 suffers heavy chip damage from super fang.
>PLAOne of the fastest pokemon in a game where speed lets you double the opponent like in Fire Emblem. Trades good flying moves for hypnosis, but cross poison is more than good enough as steels are rare.
Competitively, it was a nightmare for UU stall teams because of its small but surgical stallbreaking movepool consisting of brave bird, taunt, roost, toxic, U-turn, and super fang. This resulted in Crobat being banned to BL in gen 4.
