Do you think the pokemon games becoming 3d killed the national dex cause they realised they would have to 3d model like 700+ pokemon for each new game

The national dex was going to get cut eventually, models or not. They would have had to work on 1000s of pokemon eventually, the dexcut was always going to suck so they decided to bite the bullet sooner than later.

No, the national dex died because you'll buy it anyway. They already had the models done. Game Freak doesn't even make them in-house.

Considering they can just copy-paste the models like they did in SwSh, I highly doubt that was the reason.
Anyone who isnt a complete retard will realize that the real reason for national dex was so that CHARIZARD would have less competition

Gold and silver (27.5 million)
Ruby and sapphire(16million)
Diamond and pearl(14.92million)

Scat and vomit(22.1million)
when they went 3d their sales started booming even without the national dex they are grossing over 20 million copies sold its not looking good for us

Its been years since they started 3d and the models and animations are getting worse

How did they manage to boost sales when their games are getting progressively worse

I think it's more about having 900 Pokémon and one third being available to catch every game. But then GF randomly decides which starters and legendaries get to be in the newer games so I'm not sure. Anyway, I don't really care about Dex Cut anymore, these games would suck regardless if we had or not the dex cut.
