Boomburst and Hurricane off of 10 less base offense with Scrappy. It can still run Roost. Heat Wave also notably hits the Steel types that would otherwise wall it.

Yeah and it takes either a turn of setup and taking up an item slot with a Flame Orb, your opponent to status you (unreliable), and it still leaves you walled by any Steel type with passable physical bulk in the game. The special set actually fixes these issues.

Guts Facade is only slightly stronger than Specs Boomburst, at the expense of killing Swellow faster, needing a turn of set up, passing up Heat Wave as coverage and not hitting Ghost types with Scrappy.

Intimidate users (Landorus-T, Overqwil) + Steel-types (Corviknight, Kingambit) + Ghost-types (Gholdengo, Skeledirge) punish physical Swellow harder than special Swellow gets punished.

Technically Swellow wouldn't be handling those threats specifically because it's sitting in Natdex, or NU and RU prior when this set was usable on cart. But the logic still stands about Intimidate users and Ghost and Steel types.
