>>53980852>>53980896i used a screenless tablet for about 14 years, and then switched to an ipad pro/2nd gen apple pencil a couple years ago. the ipad is an extremely powerful digital art tool and the mobility it offers is unparalleled, so i definitely recommend getting one eventually if you can.
that said, if you're truly a beginner at digital art, i probably wouldn't bother springing for an ipad until you get more comfortable using your screenless tablet (unless you're rich/have a ton of excess cash to play with right now). digital art requires a slightly different set of fine motor skills than does physical art due in part to the lack of friction between the pen and tablet surface. if the thing that you're struggling to "get used to" on the screenless tablet is drawing precise, non-wiggly lines, that problem isn't suddenly going to go away by switching to an ipad.
also, while procreate DOES have animation capabilities, they are pretty basic/thin compared to some other programs specifically designed for digital animation (open toonz, plastic animation paper, and i think even the android version of tv paint is free now?). before sinking $1000+ on an ipad and procreate, consider dabbling in those first to see how you feel about the animation process
