What people don't realize is that Pokémon isn't like Legend of Zelda or Mario. The number of assets in staggering.
From the outstanding amount of Pokémon in the game to the images and audio, the moves, the world itself, the items, the battle system. The amount of memory needed is a lot. Pokémon is a bigger game than LoZ and Mario.
Then there are the fans demanding more. Add more Pokémon, make it open world. The best one is a seamless world with every region. It is impossible right now.
So, GF is in a Damned if you do damned if you don't spot.
Let's take PL:A for example, it is considered the best game that has been released recently. You want to know what was done to it?
It has significantly less Pokémon, a lot of items were removed, the battle system is barebones. It uses considerably fewer assets.
Let's go back to the mainline games. Where GameFreak cuts Pokémon and everyone has a hissy fit. Pokémon fans don't understand that for everything added, they have to take things away.
You saw it with Let's Go as well. Less Pokémon, more game.
The fans are demanding too much. You want a full open world game, with zero bugs, and all the Pokémon ever released constantly walking around in the overworld. That is a lot to pull off, especially for a gaming company that has never done it before. S/V is great for their first attempt at a fully open, non-linear game, but you guys are bullying them into doing more and harming their reputation in the process.
