>>53988405Yeah, I thought the translated dialogue was so retarded when I first read it I went to look up Ball Guy on Japanese wikipedia, and it did actually go on a bit about "even though the character is called Ball Guy, the game makes a point out of nobody knowing anything about the person behind the costume, not even if it's a man or a woman", so I think they legit fucked up when they cast the relatively deep voiced Tomokazu Seki in the role. Nobody could hear his voice and not think Ball Guy is obviously a man.
But as you say, there's MUCH better ways to write dialogue that doesn't refer to a person by a pronoun than to just go "they they they" all the time even for dialogue spoken by characters that haven't even heard of Ball Guy.
