any zoomers or people that otherwise missed out, I highly recommend emulating the complete experience anyway
>>53990086It really is. I like the challenge these games present, and its an engaging journey to get your team ready and onto the n64.
one of these games, I think its stadium 2, had a mew at the end of the ladder that destroys even the most hardened teams. Then its back to the lab again yo, finding some item or something to beef everyone up just enough to squeeze out a win. Gotta get those flawless victories during the ladder climb so you can have multiple shots at the mew
I was able to run my GBC emulator and my N64 emulator side by side and do the whole process on PC,
obviously physical is king, but I want to give props to the romhack Crystal Clear for going to great lengths to have every last detail, "stadium 2 compatible". Idk how many users have even taken advantage of this but holy shit, to any zoomers wanting peak pokemon, play crystal clear on your phone or PC, then have the save data and rom hooked up to N64 for a cool postgame challenge, Experience stadium 2, its worth it, and the n64-GBC connection functions emulate surprisingly well.
I recommend Crystal Clear because it opens up the world of movesets immensely by giving you access to move tutor moves. I wanted an aerodactyl with rockthrow because come the fuck on. there are a lot of moves unobtainable in vanilla GSC that work flawlessly in stadium because they are programmed "legal"
plus CC is an engaging way to replay the game and access your favorite mons. Its not essential or anything just play gen 2 and beat stadium 2, its peak pkmn.
