1. They reduce 1 level of entry hazard damage. For example, if you're 4x weak to Rocks, SR will now do 25% upon entry. If you 4x resist Rocks, SR will do no damage. Same logic applies to Spikes/Toxic Spikes and Sticky Webs are just negated.
Or..
2. Reduces all entry hazard damage to its lowest form. So if youre 4x weak to rocks, you still take damage, just in the form of 4x resistance.
I'd prefer option 2 in a world where Volcarona doesn't get to abuse a broken gimmick. Either option still make it worthwhile for Pokemon weak to Rocks, but it doesnt allow thinks like Multiscale or Natdex Shedinja degeneracy. Option 1 would be more to keep Volc in check under broken circumstances, but otherwise still taking chip at all is worthwhile.
