>>53994950You only get the Kanto pokes, no abilities and no held items. There are no wild battles. You gain exp by battling trainers and catching pokes. Catching is a Go-style minigame. There are no trainer rebattles except for the Elite Four. There's not much postgame stuff, just fill the dex and the "expert" trainers. There are expert trainers for every species, including unevolved ones, and you battle them 1 poke each and you can only use the species they have. Also you cannot use a real controller, it only works with 1 joycon or a Pokeball Plus.
It's in no way a mainline Pokemon game and I'd still recommend FRLG as the definitive Kanto experience. It is still a fun game though.
