When did shiny hunters become such whiny, entitled babies? The odds should never have been changed from 1/8000, the original appeal of a shiny being a rare surprise moment that you cherished is long forgotten it seems.

The complaint isn't "This takes too long to get", it's "I can't fucking tell it's shiny until after the fact". If raid shinies played the shiny animation, this wouldn't be an issue.

The only issue I have with it is the FOMO, a full odds shiny without a way to alter the odds is great but the fact it was unobtainable to begin with is a bit of a shame

when gamefreak thought it would be a good idea to give them 10 separate methods for increasing the odds to an insane level in one game and then cutting out almost every single piece of the postgame from there on out
Shiny hunting is literally the only thing you can do in SV once once beat the game unless you count singular rematches that you cannot repeat and a shitty tournament with 8 trainers in it, so of course the shills who still want to lick GF’s boot until gen 10 started doing it (and we all know how stupid they are)

Then don't lock it behind a shitty event that only lasts like what? A week? It's such a stupid way to force players to engage with the repetitive, shitty system that has you relying on other players if you want any more attempts via the just as equally shitty and also laggy Pokeportal menus. If there were alternate ways to shiny hunt it at literally any time the player wanted, then who gives a shit what the odds are for tera raids? Thankfully, the shiny is a singular point difference on the RGB scale so it really doesn't matter, but whether or not you're supposed to "endlessly waste your time" on it, people do it anyway, and having to brute force full odds with an encounter per 10 minutes for a week straight is uninteractive. As someone who's shiny hunted in Emerald with broken rng with old full odds, that's genuinely miserable. That's like shiny hunting Wishmaker Jirachi in terms of speed, except you're dependent on other players hosting a raid for you.

Because you can't tell the thing is shiny at all between the shiny animation not playing and the shiny barely having any color differences, each raid taking a good while to do and last but certainly not least it all being a limited time event.

It's a limited-time event. That is the sole reason it is bad, and it is also the reason it is OBJECTIVELY bad and there is no way to defend it.

No Pokemon should ever be shiny-locked, period. If people want to hunt, let them hunt.

If a hundred people did this event nonstop from start to finish endlessly tracking down and farming Gimmighoul, the odds are that not a single one of them would find a shiny, and the event would be over with no way to keep hunting. That's the issue.

You're fucking retarded if you think that raising the odds will increase appreciation for them. They're just going to find another way to get them.
GF making shinies easier to obtain was so that normal players didn't have to resort to that.

It's both.
There are two ways to make better odds in Pokemon
>Increase the number of encounters/eggs/hatches (egg power/egg charm/encounter power and to some extent moving faster)
>Increase the rerolls (shiny charm)
This event and the game design of raids helps with none of these.

To sum it up:
Getting on your raidon and having to travel to each location for a shiny worse than garchomp that everyone with CFW uses raid checker for anyway that's ALSO a limited time event is fucking dogshit. This isn't normal shiny hunting where you hatch eggs quickly or chain fish - you spend much more time moving to where your spawn is than checking the fucking spawn.
