>>54002915There's a bit of a difference between "Pokemon with evolutionary adaptation" and "Pokemon so many years in the future that it has become a robot"
Most of the complaints about the Future Paradoxes comes from a lack of commitment to the idea. There's so much that can be done with the concept, and yet it is very rarely taken advantage of. As an example, most people probably won't complain about Iron Bundle because it uses its robotic features for fun animations and to retool the way Delibird works. Its present tail is now an energy cannon. It has skis for feets and propels itself with a jet to slide around. Its fucking head pops off like a toy. All of that is neat stuff, even though Bundle visually looks very similar to Delibird. Then you take a look at Jugulis and it... it's robot Hydreigon. It's just Hydreigon. At best you get the cute visual flair of it powering down and losing a face, but outside of that it doesn't really offer anything outside of appealing to people who like robots.
