Comp fags seethe because they can't use and have fun with a mon that isn't totally busted. Probably peak design for single stagers, followed closely behind by gen 1 and gen 3. I really like the design ethos of gen 2 guys though, they just kind of said fuck the stats and what not, just have cool little dudes to populate the world. A lot of mons still retain the gen 1 idea of design as well, which kills the nufags the love anything past gen 6. Unironically some of my favorites of all time are from gen 2, and I didn't even start with it.
