Do you think Gamefreak can get away with making a pokemon game in which they just give you all the Pokemon for free? With how easy they make the games with each progressive generation, it's inevitable!

Gen 7’s Pokemon aren’t overpowered. If anything they’re underpowered because they all have trash speed.

Meanwhile Gen 5 hands you Darmanitan with a 120 BP Sheet Force boosted STAB OR a Krokorok that has two good STABs that gets a free attack boost on every KO OR a Scraggy that gets access to a 130 BP STAB that also gets a free attack boost on every KO, all before the 4th gym.

That’s weird, I don’t remember Ghetsis attacking me with two Pokemon at once with EVs and stat boosts. All I remember doing is mindlessly sweeping all his Pokemon with Haxorus.

Granted, you can turn it off, but the fact that you need to basically throw the game to get any sort of challenge out of it is telling.
And granted again, that's sort of the case for every Pokemon game. You need to throw insanely hard and saddle yourself with self-imposed restrictions if you want it to be harder than sleepwalking.
