>>54019143>Landorus is earthquakes and sinkholes Read the lore tardo. It has those powers as a ground type but its main focus is fertility and harvest.
>Love doesn’t fit I’m going to let you in on a little secret kiddo. Enamorus is love because it’s a kid’s game. She’s the fauna fertility to Landorus’ flora fertility. Considering the entire trio was originally pitched as Tornadus and Thundurus ruining crops and Landorus saving them, it fits in perfectly.
>B-b-but No buts. Enamorus completes the set by representing both spring and Genbu. Which is odd because Genbu is associated with Winter but this was already fucked up when the Therian Forms were first added. Incarnate Enamorous keeps its snake tail in that form because it’s based on Ugajin, who is a fertility deity. Torn and Thun are the OGs based on the famous duo of Raijin/Fujin but they recontextualised them into a trio with the Inari-based Landorus to make them stand out more from the similarly themed Sawk/Throh. They then realised later on they’d left a gap to fill.
>To recap Enamorus - Spring, when new livestock is born. It’s also based on Genbu of the four symbols, and Ugajin in Japanese mythology.
Thundurus - Summer, specifically focused on summer storms since it was recontexualised to fit this theme. Based on Seiryu (Four Symbols) and Raijin (Japanese myth).
Landorus - Autumn, harvest season. Also based on Byakko and Inari.
Tornadus - Winter, especially proven by its new Bleakwind Storm move. Based on Suzaku and Fujin.
>TL;DR They’re based on farming and you wouldn’t know that because you’ve never been outside
