Not any of those anons but I played literally every single mainline game on the very day they released and I still really enjoyed SV a lot even though I hated SwSh. Sorry you've become jaded, I can thankfully still enjoy things even though I'm 32.

BW2 are my favorite games followed by Plat and HGSS, then SV. I play a ton of JRPGs and other monster collectors like SMT, YW and DQM.
Everything between SM and SwSh were irredeemable shit btw

These games are broken. No, "performance fixes" won't make this dumpsterfire any better because "performance issues" is a blanket statement that covers anything from slower framerate to memory leak, seizure inducing strobing, and frequent crashes. Every patch they release introduces more fuckups. Literally the first selling point these retards had was seemless 4 player online co-op, yet if you use this advertised feature the game breaks and you get more "le performance issues". I've played many different switch games, both leaked versions and ones with updates, and the only ones to have ANY crashes were Shield (once during the infamous Zamazenta pivoting in place cutscene) and Scarlet, with Scarlet crashing MULTIPLE times. I'm not even going to talk about how ugly the game looks both graphically and aesthetically. I don't get how people like this shit, the only things I can praise are some of the mon designs and a few OST tracks. Other than that it was a complete chore to get through

SV are what I would consider the perfect 7/10. A C grade. The look you get from your dad when he goes 'Well, at least you passed.' They're absolutely average games.
They could be a whole lot better. They do a lot of things right, but fall short in a lot of other ways too. They're a marked improvement over SwSh, SM, and XY. Nowhere near as bad as BDSP, nowhere near as good as PLA.

This is how I would feel if it didn't look and run like dogshit and if it had more things to actually find during exploration. The game is way too empty; the world is disgusting not just because the textures look worse than Mario 64 tier and the lighting is literally broken but the design of the landscape is absolutely hideous. I mean for fucks sake there's just a giant fuck off wall at the edge of the world.

The horrible buggy launch of SV leaves me concerned for future titles, because we all know they're gonna using the same development timeline they've been using for every main pokemon title. At this rate, I can see the whole house coming down in another gen or 2 with the switch successor coming soon.

Yeah same honestly. It's a step in the right direction. SV was not "finished" by all means, but it's main story was definitely finished, even a little bit polished. That's what SwSh was lacking, and it ruined the game.
I'm pretty sure they worked on the ending for SV in the middle of the dev cycle, not the end. Having a good end is so, so much more important than having a good midgame.

I feel like I havent really played Pokemon since Gen 6. Gen 7, and ESPECIALLY Gen 8 were just fucking breeding sims for me as I blasted through the shit stories and hated the mechanics/new additions so much that I rarely touched online. Gen 7 at least has some redeeming qualities, and Z moves, while bad, dont suck as hard as Dynashit.

Pokemon SV has flaws out the ass, as stated ad nauseum, but the core things I really look for in a Pokemon gam are strongly represented, and even small, simple aesthetic things like actually being able to see my Pokemon scaled somewhat properly adds a lot for me.

As much as I love SV, I still agree with this though. Coming out the same year as TotK should really be eye opening for Gamefreak (it wont be.)
