>>54025978>But SV has plenty of both.I dont want both, I want the latter.
>You're forgetting that Pokémon is made to be played and understood by literally toddlers. Literal toddlers don’t even know how to read.
>You have to implement some unskippable cutscenes and handholding so little Timmy won't get confused. Some, sure, a little. A small amount I dont have a problem with. An abundance is where it gets annoying. And while I hate to sound like a grandpa kanto boomer, kids did just fine figuring shit out without an hour of mostly cutscenes before the game gets started.
>If you want to play a game with a well executed story and mature writing, you should really not play PokémonNowhere did I say that’s what I want. What I want is for whatever shallow story they have to be MOSTLY presented through environmental storytelling and optional npcs, with mandatory cutscenes being rare and brief.
Most people play pokemon more for the general game experience than the plot, so I want the plot to mostly stay out of the way unless it’s interesting enough for me to want to explore more of it via optional stuff. This isnt asking for ‘dark and mature’ it’s videogame storytelling 101.
People have been complaining about this since SM. It doesnt ruin the games for me but I’d like them more without a cutscene stopping me at the start and end of every route.
