I don't get why people get so assmad about regionals or alternate forms, if a Pokemon gets a cross gen evolution then that Pokemon is essentially dead, and to use it you NEED to use the evolved form, which can be anywhere from dogshit to passible, a lot of cross gen evos, like almost all the ones from Gen 4, have a habit of getting rid of all the defining traits you might've liked about the Pokemon initially anyway, i.e how Togekiss has a wildly different body shape than Togetic, or Dusknoir barely having anything in common with Dusclops besides having a single eye, even if you happen to like the changes, they still aren't the original Pokemon you were hoping to get buffed.
At that point, I don't see any discernable difference between a cross gen evo and something like a Paradox form, in both cases you don't get to use "Delibird", at least with a Paradox form you get to use something that looks a lot like a Delibird, albeit with a new theme to the design, unlike a cross gen evolution that completely changes the appeal and might be a design you find horrible, or a regional which is only tangibly related to the Pokemon you like, like how no one cares about Runeruigis despite Cofagrigus being a consistently popular design.
To date, the only thing that's both buffed a Pokemon and let you actually use that same one is Mega Evolution and yet we still have retards saying they should have been normal evolutions as if Gamefreak can be trusted with Cross-gen evos anymore--the design philosophy behind megas was "we need this Pokemon, but stronger", which is a far cry from how they handle cross gen evos that very commonly veer a much different direction than the original.
