Is there any reason to have these games? Is there a better shiny rate in underground or some reason to justify getting it? Anything unique at all?

Not really. You can get the Tower ribbon on some dexited mon, and the contest ribbons are available (plus one exclusive). The daily ribbons got a downgrade from ORAS, so they only apply to the first mon in your party.

Underground is literal garbage though unless of course you like exiting and reentering a zone 100 times just to find a Pokemon you are missing, Houndour line is also in Platinum early game

It felt more like obligation honestly. GF knew it was time to remake DP but they cared more about doing Legends Arceus, but thought there needed to be some kind of DP remake.

I'd rather not. Personally, I don't completely hate BDSP, mostly just because I like Sinnoh and have fond memories playing Diamond, but they did miss the mark on a lot of areas. I think if they remake BW1, it won't be as bad, mostly because I think BW1 is better than DP is. Plus with stuff like the exp share and affection stuff, I find ways around it, like putting team members away so they don't over level and using herbs to keep friendship down, but the fact I have to go out of my way to do that is really bad and shows how poorly it's designed.

Not much, but there are save data bonuses for mythicals.
In Floaroma Town, you get Jirachi for a Sword/Shield save and Mew for a Let's Go one. You can use these on your team since they have your OT and are very low level.
Catching Arceus in PLA will unlock the Azure Flute in this game, which lets you shiny hunt him for the very first time.
BDSP data unlocks the Darkrai quest in PLA.
The solution to PLA's Manaphy quest can only be found in BDSP, but it doesn't actually check for save data. You can just look it up and it still works.

If you don't mind spending hours in the Underground digging up Mysterious shards you can get a bunch of non-Sinnoh Hidden Ability legendaries with their location as Sinnoh if you're autistic about that. Also the new Battle Tower is actually more difficult that the original DP Battle Tower.

As someone who bought them for the fuck of it and to remember what Gen 4 was like I can agree with everyone in the thread saying to just play Platinum. Even if you can only do it on an emulator. It's stupid how the dex is limited as fuck and you basically are pigeon held into using Staraptor+Luxray+Starter etc. Want Drifloom? Get fucked unless it's Friday at the Valley Windworks. Want Slugma for the fucking memes? Not until natdex is unlocked, until then you gotta wait for Magcargo etc. I'm playing it now and am just trying to play differently than my first run so the most entertaining mons I got are Simple Bibarel with Swords Dance and a Lickilicky with Bolt+Beam coverage. It's a slog but they at least always have a hint near the save screen to tell you where to go.

It runs a little faster and the E4/Champ rematches have good teams.
The online works.
That's the best I can think of. Platinum is genuinely just better in every other way.

ILCA should not make another remake if TPC still exists. TPC and the way they do things is what is keeping the main series games from reaching their full potential. Ideally I would want TPC to be disbanded and for Ishihara to step down as president, but that's not going to happen

You can easily RNG manip for pretty much all Gen I-IV shiny legendaries, and Arceus, using nothing more than a PC and a webcam. You can even go for Star/Square if you like a certain effect in SwSh
