Hello fellow trainers. I have just finished playing Pokemon White after not playing any Pokemon games since HGSS. I had a great time playing it. Should I play vanilla White 2 or play the redux?

stick with vanilla. BW2 already have the most content of any pokemon game, you don’t need to bloat it with romhacks.

BW2 is more or less the same game with a couple changes and a somewhat different story. If you're willing to redo mostly the same game with a few different gym leaders and a different bad guy then sure. That's not me shitting on BW2, I quite enjoyed it myself, I'm just trying to give real advice. If you want to stick to 2D I'd recommend HGSS nextvas a bit of a palate cleanser before jumping into BW2. If you want to move on to a later gen I enjoyed USUM, though when it comes to 3D gens it can be pretty hit or miss for people.vmnnj

Worth playing White 2. Not sure if you're on emulator or not, but it's fun to connect to White 1 and transfer memories from White 1 to see certain scenes and battles.

If you want another pokemon game this soon after playing one, then yeah white 2 is great. The distribution of pokemon in the wild makes it a fresh experience and I thought they changed things up just enough to keep the region interesting.

i used to be all about modded games for the difficulty. i don't know what changed, but i only like vanilla games now. i say play white 2, but take a break from gen 5 and do a playthrough of oras and x y. i am replaying those and i forgot how much fun they were. the dexnav alone in oras is just too much fun

BW2 is one of the few mainlines I feel is well balanced and interesting without a difficulty hack. It’s not overly challenging but it’s not completely braindead either.
