>>54037900>Great TuskLandorus on steroids. Sacrifices pivot ability and ground immunity for more power. Has access to Knock Off and Rapid Spin in a gen where Lando lost Knock Off and Defog.
>DragapultStrong in both offense and support roles. Lack of physical Ghost STAB has been remedied with Tera Blast, but also still runs special sets. Premiere dual screener.
>KingambitArguably the king of the meta. Bisharp was already good in every prior generation, and Kingambit is just a better Bisharp. Many Pokemon live or die on how they deal with Kingambit.
>GholdengoThe other arguable king of the meta. Immune to Rapid Spin and Defog. Meaning it's the best spin blocker ever and hazards rule the meta more than ever before. Nothing has influenced gen 9 more than Gholdengo. Great Tusk being a spinner that counters Gholdengo is a big reason why it's the most used.
>Samurott-HSamurott-H is not a Pokemon, but a move. And that move is Ceaseless Edge, which has 97.5 BP and sets a layer of Spikes. Keep in mind that Spikes are now considered better than Stealth Rocks in most cases because Gholdengo makes keeping up 3 layers easier than ever.
>Iron ValiantAn unironically good mixed attacker. And by "mixed attacker", I don't just mean a mon that can run physical or special sets with ease. I mean a mon that can run mixed sets. Also matches well against a lot of top mons, being Fairy/Fighting
>EnamorusGreat Tusk counter and first Superpower/Contrary user with good stats. Mostly a special attacker, though. Similar to Valiant, it does well against a lot of good mons in the meta.
>Slowking-GalarDoing the same shit it did last gen, but now it has a pivoting move in Chilly Reception. You can never go wrong with a slow bulky Regenerator pivot.
>DragoniteIt has Extremespeed and the regional gimmick lets it become a Normal-type and get STAB on it. There's a reason why STAB Extremespeed was limited to Linoone and God before this gen.
>ZapdosIt's Zapdos. Nothing has changed.
