>>54038891I'm not really against the concept of it, but there are a few Pokémon I would go out my way to make sure I have the "correct" sex of. Like, if I want to use, say, a Delphox or a Primarina in my playthrough, I'm going to soft reset a couple of times to get a female one, because they're so obviously meant to be feminine, yet the female ones are also so rare. It's not that different than going out of one's way to get a female Combee or Salandit in order to evolve it.
Yet, I don't think I'd do the same for an obviously masculine starter like Incineroar or Rillaboom. Because, again, they're masculine starters, they're overwhelmingly rare, getting a female one by chance is a fun novelty I won't say no to. It's oddly paradoxical that way.
Outside of playthroughs, though, I don't really care either way. Make a male Meowscarada or a female Chesnaught OC, it's all fair game. I just like seeing the content.
