I still think that Meltan's evolution being locked behind Pokemon GO is stupid. If you transfer a Meltan to the games it's basically useless cuz it can't evolve.

What will they do with Meltan and Melmetal once GO shuts down? I doubt they can make an offline version of GO.

Anon, you are aware that not all pokemon are available to catch right ?
Meltan and Melmetal will just become like them, pokemon that where available for a short time period, and probably do some event to get them in mystery gift every now and then

Difference with Ursaring is it can still use eviolite and technically has an evolution method in the code that is scrubbed.

Meltan for all intents and purposes is coded as a fully evolved mon in the main games

It will be able to evolve when they give you its evo item in Kitakami seeing as its in the datamined dex for that area. It already learns a move upon evolution in SV, which it wasn’t coded to do in PLA.

Any evolution requirement that was only possible in PLA is not in SV.
You can't even evolve Hisuian Qwilfish in SV because it requires the Strong Style.

I don't know about the leaks, but this in particular doesn't prove anything. Melmetal has been needlessly programmed to learn Thunder Punch upon evolving since Lets Go.

The list of DLC dex entries datamined in the exact same way in SWSH turned out to mean something, so yeah it’s pretty important. A far cry from the usual movelists/item lists that are always copypasted every Gen since 3.

They didn't "deliberately" add compatibility, the Hisuian mons are eviolite compatible because Game Freak just copypasted PLA's evolution requirements without a thought, leading shit like this >>54049487
It would have been less lazy if they had gone out of their way to disable their evolutions like Meltan.

This is also the case for Melmetal. It's programmed to learn Thunderpunch upon evolving, there's just no situation where it'll evolve from something.

This isn't true. Stantler and Qwilfish use the same evolution method as Primeape, there's just a flag that prevents them from evolving.

No, it's just how Game Freak do things. If something's deleted entirely, it's not showing up in the new games. If it's got deleted 'dex entries or data of some sort, it's a lock to return.
They know you cunts are looking to cry about dexit and have a justifiable reason and leaving in data from shit that's not getting added absolutely would construe as such. If it's in, it's getting added. If it's out, it's being kept for the side adventure game,
