Johto actually almost filled three boxes, which surprised me. Gen 2 got a lot more cross-gen evos than I realized.

Don't mind me. There isn't really a point to this thread. For some goddamn reason I thought it'd be a good idea to get my boxes in order and I just needed to vent in some way.

I still consider Spiritomb and Rotom Legendaries for the sake of organization, even though they've been downgraded in the past few gens. I forgot that I also have Pikaclones and Eeevees in their own boxes, so they're not in these lineups either.

Just the opposite. It's not really about getting organized. This is like going through old photo albums for me. It makes me wish I could go back and convince my younger self not to delete my pre-Gen 4 save files. I love seeing all my mons from disparate games from over the years, putting the teams I used to beat the Elite Four in them back together, and seeing what dumb shit I nicknamed them all. The fun of this is having moments where I go, "Why the fuck do I have FOUR Ninetales named Tamamo?"

What warm memories do you have with those JP mons that I'm assuming you didn't catch yourself? I 100% understand the sentimental value thing, I have about 5 or 6 boxes named "old friends" that I keep around for the same reason. I'm just not following why it matters for the ones that I assume have only been traded for dex purposes

Had a living dex in National Pokedex order once, and it was too much of a pain in the ass whenever I would inevitably realize I missed one and had to go back and rearrange everything. All I care about now is that evolutionary lines are grouped together on the same line.

I've got separate boxes for regional variants. The Galar box is pretty sad-looking because I never played Sword/Shield, so I only have one member of most "families" that I can hopefully breed more of at some point. And Paldea is literally just Wooper, Clodsire, and three Tauros.

I should mention that mental gymnastics are involved when deciding whether something's a cross-gen evo or a regional variant. I consider Kleavor and Ursaluna regional variants mainly because the Peat Block and Black Augurite don't exist in SV, but I'll probably move them in line with Scyther/Ursaring if they become available outside of PLA later.

Though I'm not sure how he only has 50 rather than 65.

Because I keep forgetting it isn't. When I try to find Rotom, I'm gonna go looking in the Legends box first, realize "Oh yeah" and then have to go find it in the regular Sinnoh boxes. This just cuts out the middle man. In DPPt you could only catch one, it played the Legendary Battle theme, and its extra forms were originally locked behind an event. It was natural to assume it was Legendary at the time and I had no idea you could breed it. Same goes for Spiritomb.

tldr; I know it's wrong, but it's been almost twenty years and I still forget that they aren't Legendary. I honestly forgot again when I made this thread.
