The exact reason people defend Gen 4 in spite of its numerous fault is because it was their first Pokemon game and they have nostalgia for it. DPP weren't good games by any means.
They were fucking dogshit games with terrible speed issues and the absolute worst regional dex in the entire franchise and its not even fucking close. Everyone running Starter/Luxray/Staraptor/HM slave is proof of this. They are some of the worst games in the series alongside SWSH and Let's go Piss.

BDSP being faithful remakes will do nothing but highlight how dogshit Sinnoh is as a region. Flint running fucking Steelix and Driflblim since Magmar is straight up unobtainable until postgame. The Pokémon distribution was just embarassing.

The ONLY redeeming quality of Gen 4 were the Johto remakes. Real talk. Stop deluding yourselves /vp/, DPP were never good games. Your nostalgia for when the world was a less cringeworthy SJW shithole and your boner for Dawn and Cynthia are responsible for clouding your judgement.
