>>54056477your argument makes zero sense. You don't have to use the kanto starters and lapras if you don't want to, and megas themselves are "new" pokemon, so you can still have a Lucario in your team and feel the gen 6 freshness. The fairy types in those 80 new mons all have good designs except for carbink, there's plenty you can use and they're all strong.
I've built numerous teams with those 80 pokemon during different playthroughs and they all felt strong and diverse.
>Talonflame, Hawlucha or Noivern as your fly-mon (Yveltal too if using legendaries is fine).>Plenty of mons who can use surf even when they're not water types.>2 early route fire mons if you don't choose fennekin.>Compound eyes sleep powder Quiver Dance Vivillon is quite good as the bugmon of the region, and has multiple skins as its gimmick making it an unique mon.>Florges is very solid as a Sp Def. stall mon like sylveon, and moonblast does good damage regardless.>Pangoro hits hard, especially with Gunk Shot coverage which is obtainable as a tutor move in ORAS>Never had the chance to use furfrou but his different trims are also really cool, making it an unique mon + fur coat>Aegislash is self explanatory>Belly Drum unburden Slurpuff hits hard and fast, cool design and fairy type>Contrary Superpower Malamar>Shell smash Barbaracle (although I'm not a fan of his design)>Mega Launcher Clawitzer>Heliolisk as your Surf mon if you want to use a physical water type like barbaracle>Dragon Dance Rock Head Tyrantrum through breeding>Unburden Hawlucha>Carbink and Klefki as hazard mons, both fairy like you wanted> Assault Vest Goodra>Physically defensive Gourgeist with will-o-wisp and leech seed>Specs NoivernWhile 80 might seem like a low number, they're all very interesting choices as team members. Little to zero shitmons in this dex and megas can raise the offensive output of any team you build
