I was playing through Colosseum to start my second ribbon challenge, but when I saw "yadoya" for inn I remembered how the old Pokemon games had Japanese words and even English words (like the word MART or SHOP outside Pokémarts). Why did they retcon the real world alphabets by introducing the Galar and Paldean alphabets/ciphers? Why introduce gimmicks like Unown based on Roman letters or the Regis' gimmick being centered around Braille and then just retcon all the scripts?
