Yeah its kinda sad that gen 3ish Pokemon just became really boring with sprites.
Like people say that the 3D models generally sitting in a boring as fuck pose is an issue that came from that era particularly but 90% of anything post GB era kinda sucks most of the time.
There's a few standouts but that general ideal was pushed for multiple gens forward, but gen 5 you have stock pose hell(even when those things move its so boring).
Gen 1 sprites are very standout, which I'd say is a better benefit that the benefit of having designs to pull from on average. Of course nothing was stopping them from using better poses; they just didn't past a point.
