Has anyone here actually been to a regional/national event? Im considering going to events this season. Ive saved more than enough funds to travel and I may have time. How is it like like the other players etc.

As for advice, get some Vick's vapor rub or something. It fucking stinks, especially in the summer. That foul musk of unwashed ass, sweating pits, and the fat fucks who insist on wearing sandals after skipping a shower for two days.

I have played VGC since SWSH and I broke top 1000 on master ball rank. I’ve battle hundreds of times already within the 1st week of making my team.

Also the people in the VGC community seem like normal people.

They're fun and well worth the spectacle even if you don't plan on grinding multiple ones for CP. My friends and I usually try to go to one of the local Regionals a year (basically any one we can go to by driving and not needing to fly or get a hotel).

Am I the only one that experiments in the ladder? Sure I lose games but it exposes me to more teams and helps me improve. I think some people do experiment but I see alot of rentals on ladder.

I have. If you're going to compete then I'd say go for it as that's the only way of doing so (if you live in the US)
I would not go alone just to spectate though. The VGC competitive scene leans more on cliquey side so you will need good social game or a friend to go with. IDK about Unite, GO or TCG.
