They weren't cheated. They didn't need to have yellow hair color but GF set it that way. That's their fault for not just choosing dark brown like actual media gumshoe portrayals have had. Brown base for the trenchcoat/mongoose color and dark brown for the hair/vest would have worked much better for accuracy.
