The berry clock is independant of day/night, the only thing it's used for is Shoal Cave. And Espeon/Umbreon which aren't obtainable in the game anyway

They couldn't do that AND overworld weather. Ruby's Drought segment more or less requires perpetual daylight.

One of the biggest blunders of the original gameboy advance is that screen wasn't backlit. You basically were forced to buy this ugly ass light attachment just so you can see anything on the screen during he day.

Nintendo quickly released the Gameboy Advance SP with a built in backlight, but Ruby and Sapphire were already on shelves.
