>>54085049It's just a pain because given the new mechanics that were introduced in the previous 3 gens from Emerald to ORAS, there could have been so much that was expanded upon in the various gen 3 Battle Frontier challenges. I still think about how horde battles would have been perfect for the Battle Pike and how we have had 5 generations (5, 6, 7, 8, and now 9) that haven't seen a single Battle Frontier or a stadium game where we could really use the Pokemon in a meaningful manner that we have been training.
It's also been increasingly troubling that they keep either toying with the idea by direct references or the fact that they clearly seem to allocate the space for one, like the Battle Resort/Kiloude City/Wyndon's massive Battle Tower courtyard and Ferris Wheel/the cut interior of a tower in SV and we haven't had a proper new gen tower since the Tree.
