God Giovanni is so cool. I really want to know what happened to him after GSC/HGSS. I know you can fight him in B2W2 (not even sure if it's canon) and I remember there was an alternate universe version of him in S&M but that's it, right?

Because even though Team Rocket are portrayed as this weird hybrid of mafia and a James Bond style evil organization, they also give off weird cult vibes with their fanatical devotion and identical uniforms. Especially in the anime where they have a motto and are also abusive to their minions. Why would any competent criminal not just go solo? They must at least have some strong ideological devotion to the Team Rocket philosophy even if they're not outright brainwashed.. look at how fanatically devoted they were to Giovanni in gold/silver. Also they used radio waves to brainwash gyarados in g/s so why not use them on humans as well.

Personally i really struggle with the idea of the PWT being 100% canon considering there's things like Tate, Liza, Red and Blue not visibly aging, I also don't really know if I like the idea of him reforming either considering the Celebi event either.

Its heavenly implied, he loses his battle against Gold and jumps off the cliff. He didn't have any mons with surf, and it plays a splashing sound off screen in silence. Nobody knows what happens to him afterwords and he doesn't reappear in Goldenrod Tower during the take over (the event takes place during the takeover.)

I got the impression that in the gen 1 games he did change his way after losing in the Viridian gym. Both in RBY and FRLG he says TR is finished forever and it took until LGPE for Gamefreak to remove the forever part.
