>>54115703It's never been shown to work like this, but I've always had this idea of Smeargle's copied moves being used via psuedo-summons. Like, it learns Flamethrower from a Charizard, so it points it's tail at a target and a Charizard head made of paint forms and spits fire.
I also read a short story once about a Smeargle that had copied Acid Armor from a Vaporeon. Acid Armor's flavor text is
>The user alters its cellular structure to liquefy itself, sharply boosting its Defense stat.Which let the Smeargle pull off that "turn into water" trick Vaporeon are sometimes known for, but in it's case it turned into paint. It was a neat bit of worldbuilding.
