whether you liked PLA or not, you have to admit the concept was pretty awesome. i have been thinking a lot about what a game in this style could look like in other regions. here's my idea for a kanto based legends. i have decided to make all my concepts set in the past and explaining some aspect of the pokemon lore we know very little about.

setting:
>kanto and faraway island, ten to twenty years before the events of red and blue
plot:
>set during the pokemon war that we know so little about. whilst war is raging throughout kanto, you join a team of researchers including blaine, mr fuji, and mr briney, searching for the elusive mew. you hope to capture a mew in order to use its dna to change the course of the war. this eventually leads to the creation and escape of mewtwo later in the story. your research is being massively funded by giovanni, and subsequently team rocket, but their connection isn't common knowlege among most of the characters. many of the team rocket executive members (such as ariana and petrel) appear in the story aiding the development of mewtwo. the climax of the game involves the three mewtwo that were created escaping after being introduced to the berserk gene. two will have the ability to mega evolve into megas x and y, and one will be defeated and then become its armoured form, similar to how giratina goes into its origin form in PLA. only one can be caught by the player and the other two will flee to cerulean cave and kalos' unknown dungeon.
