I got a charmander with shitty DVs and was surprised how much I felt it. Against rando trainers a charizard is a charizard but whenever things got tough he would melt.
Arbok was the surprise MVP. Glare + wrap is not just stupidly strong but also great for catching.
I'm really glad I gave porygon a chance, I was willing to carry a shitter but with some vitamin and TM support it turned out really well. With mimic and conversion every battle's different and it's very funny to turn the opponent's best moves against them. When this little guy swept Giovanni with horn drill I fell in love.
Slowpoke never evolved as I kept putting it off in order to save a TM by letting him learn psychic naturally. He ended up just one level short.
I severely underestimated the elite four this time. Dragonair was my only answer for water types so Lorelei was a struggle and when Blue's blastoise pulled out blizzard I came close to losing. Silly little slowpoke managed to tank enough bites to save the day with confusion.
Now some of them will get a few more levels so they can be shipped off to Stadium.
