In one of the mangas, the second James have Jessie the dick they stopped hunting Pikachu, so I’m fairly confident in my theory.

Team Rocket are the stars of the original show, and made it worth watching for 2 decades. I would watch/read/play a Team Rocket -focused work.

New anime is cool but different and Team Rocket will be missed but a breath of fresh air is welcome.

Kids hate the villain characters just in general. Show says they're bad, they must be bad.
Zoomers have an extra dosage of hating them because they didn't get to experience the 'good' Voice Actors from 4kids and they wore out their welcome years after years of showing up.
