>>54107150>school setting is a good setup to have lots of characters interact with you without feeling forced or make you seem like "the chosen one" (I hate that trope)>coherent theme that keeps appearing (treasure)>lots of fleshed out characters with defined personalities like the teachers, the e4 and some gym leaders>first time in ages I cared about the box legendary cause it's integral to the story and actually bonds with you>3 main NPCs (Nemona, Arven and Penny) have decent backstories and very distinct personalities>the fact that the 3 stories intertwine at the end for the finale was great. This way everything feels connected and you get to experience fun bants between the three because their personalities clash>the twist with the professor was decent, not super predictable but also not a total asspull. Tbh I probably would've seen it coming if I knew the animations were awful on purpose and not out of incompetence kek>had the balls to straight up say that the professor was killed by a Pokémon>left a lot of mysteries and questions open which is intriguing and encourages discussionsThey clearly put more time into the story this time, especially the ending which actually seemed mostly finished, very much unlike Sw/Sh. In SV, everything else lacked polish and needed more time in the oven (especially the Team Star base raids), but the story was actually somewhat well thought out and made me feel some emotions. The scripted fight at the end was a bit lame but the presentation was neat, although that's not really a story thing.
Also I want to point out that I fucking hated SwSh's story. It was very obviously not finished. It had some charming characters but the plot goes fucking nowhere and I did not give a single shit about the box legendary. Ruined the game for me.
