The science-fantasy utopian setting is more than enough to get me to ignore the rules of reality, but when they made so much noise about pokémon being replacement for real world animals, I kind of expected they'd take more cues from the real world, given they already rob it blind for creature designs every three years as it stands (can't tell me they didn't see pictures of arctic foxes when researching for Zorua's design - fucking thing's regional does look like one, after all).
