I don't think it'll be a Legends game, but we're definitely going back to Unova/Gen V. They won't be remakes either.

My only reasoning is that the return to Unova seems to imply traveling to the future and Legends style of gameplay doesn't seem to mesh well with what would presumably be a heavily urbanized setting. My money is on a Dungeon Crawler through a digital space.

It is? How so? It seems more like we're lined up for something Gen V related.

Don't get me wrong, Legends Celebii seems like a more suitable game for PLA style. The Kinki region of Japan is some to it's most rich culture. Which makes Johto ideal for a trip to the past.

However, all signs do seem to point to Unova atm.

NTA but unless they're doing something dumb like an LGPE tier (or god forbid bdsp) remake of Gen 2, they're likely just going to go right to Gen 5 remakes. LGPE literally only existed to rope GO normalfags into the series, and there's no actual rule anywhere that state because they remade GSC during Gen 4, that means they must revisit Johto again because they just revisited Gen 4.
I actually think its more likely we'll see Johto AFTER anything Unova.

Not only that, but his shitty pattern falls apart with the fact that Emerald got ignored. If I'm following correctly, he's saying:
ORAS = RS
LGPE = FRLG
BDSP = DP
PLA = Plat

So logically, the next in line is a remake of the gen 2 remakes HGSS in the form of a Legends game or whatever.

But Emerald came out after FRLG, and there was nothing emerald related after LGPE. Clearly there's no pattern here.

Delta Episode didn't come out after LGPE. You've got no pattern here at all to suggest that PLA aligns with Platinum and that the next game in line would be a remake of remakes. The fact that Emerald got completely ignored tells us it's possible and likely for HGSS to get skipped.
