It's the equivalent of finding a cave in Unova (or some other American-inspired location in the Pokeverse) called 'Johnny Appleseed's hideaway' and finding it only contains a Sweet Apple and Tart Apple item - the reference makes perfect sense to anyone familiar with the local mythology, but seems utterly useless, random, or 'incomplete' to anyone who is either a foreigner or is unfamiliar with the old folktales.
