the vanillite line gets more shit than it deserves
the idea of an ice cream pokemon is dumb, but the vanillite line is by far the best possible execution of a fundamentally flawed concept
certainly better than most of the modern gen foodmons

"best possible execution" is a stretch, they could have integrated the concept of an ice cream with a living creature without it just being an ice cream with faces, they could have made, for instance, a snail whose body is made of ice cream and whose shell is the cone, and when it evolves it finds a partner to share the shell with, keeping the "double scoop" concept and also making a unique snail mon

I disagree, the problem is that you're wanting to take the concept in the direction of the ice cream aspect being entirely literal, whereas the vanillite line's strength is that it isn't actually made of ice cream, but is simply a snow elemental that happens to resemble ice cream
I simply think a pokemon made up of actual food is a stupid idea, so a good execution of the concept would be to make the utilization of the food concept be superficial

I hate pokemon that fly but cant comfortably land because of their big stupid non-landing bottoms

I hate objectmons when they are made of a natural material and then form the shape of a complex, non-natural object, when they dont have a reason to take that shape

And the face sucks. Nothing to do with it being an object

not only is that an entirely informed trait, it's something that could easily be applied to a less literal, more creative interpretation of a design as well

how? I hate that carkoal is coal formed into a minecart with shitty blocky wheels and everything. I would be okay with a coal pokemon that had an actual minecart, and they just say that the big pile of coal just likes to find and live in a minecart, like a hermit crab in a shell.

Not OP, but why do you so strongly dislike it? It's pretty far down on my list too; but I do like the colors and its overall shape isn't terrible. It's kind of an amusing concept for a Pokemon, too.
