I personally believe that B2W2 have the single best pokemon distribution in any game. If this is your first run, you're going to have a great time. I'm the kind of guy who likes to plan his team out first, but you really can not go wrong with any team choice, so I'd recommend just going with the flow! Maybe even keep a rotation since gen 5's exp system is so robust. You even get a free lucky egg later on.

Warfurs is boxed for this gym.
Gym leader is in low 40s level range.
Anyone who "grinds" and then complains that these games are too easy can suck my fat cock. On a first playthrough I haven't taken one XP from any wild encounter and still maintain a large, diverse team. 80-something caught so far and roughly 10-20 in rotation. Typically I stay 5 levels below area trainers and 10 below gym leaders. My goal is to beat this one with my entire team under lvl 30, which I think will be easy with a Kangaskhan sweep.

You finally said something I agree with. Imo, gen 3 is a bit of an awkward stage between 2 and 4's. I personally think hgss had the second best sprites, but I'm not really sure where the hate for gen 5 sprites comes from. Also: gold sprites or silver sprites?

Got two more silver symbols. Played Battle Arena just now and it was mostly easy, but the Frontier Head was very difficult. Her Shedinja made me redo the whole thing since I had no super effective moves to hit it.

Battle Dome has been my favorite so far and Factory my least favorite. Had to try 4-5 times just for the silver symbol in Factory. Sometimes you might get good rental mons and sometimes you might get awful ones. And you are guaranteed to come across a Meganium who will spam Double Team, Toxic and Leech Seed to end your whole run. I don't know how I'm going to earn the Gold symbol in Factory.

Prism is very good and very large. Full of content so if you want to sink a dozen hours into a moderately challenging and immersive game, I'd recommend it. It has some cringe characters and dialogue at times but generally feels like a very good product. The regions are large and full of secrets.
Orange is probably the weaker link out of these three but still fun. I'd say the forms and the nice Dex variety are the appeal. You can really form some nice team combinations. The region is pretty linear though.
Peridot is challenging without being unfair and therefore was the most fun for me. I really like the mechanics in this game and feels the most polished. Give it a shot.

Regardless of who you pick, definitely use Excadrill. Galvantula is a personal favorite I'd always recommend. The gift Zorua is also worth using.

Liking it thus far, opening up for more variety really enriches these games and the edits to Heracross not needing endgame tutors doesn't hurt.
Need to figure out how far in the upgrade is, I think I can get Froslass after I can Surf at least.

Issue is you won't have two of them till near the end.
Maybe forego a starter. You can also use Golurk as a flier, Seismetoad as a water if you really want one.

Anon means gym 6. You can get an Axew in Mistralton Cave after you get surf, which unlocks after Skyla.
I agree with him otherwise though, that team is ridiculously unbalanced in terms of encounters. You get half of those before the first gym and the other half past the fifth. Change it up or trade over eggs of the late game ones because otherwise you’re going to be shooting yourself in the foot until the elite 4.

Thanks for the advice, I might try something like this instead. It's hard picking from the list of Gen 5 shitmons. I know it probably makes more sense to go with Darmitan and Krokodile but I think they look so dumb

Last time I did Black 2 I just set it so I encountered a Axew on the first route and replaced my starter. Did this at certain points so I wasn't waiting all game for a mon.

if you're playing stadium you absolutely should replace hitmonlee. its special stat and hp are abysmal. fighting types in general aren't very good in gen 1. i suggest replacing it with a ground type because stadium 1 loves using thunder wave.

The Larvitar is lv 40 but its an interesting idea, I just hate waiting until after the E4 to have my complete team. I caught a ditto and got an Eevee egg so I can try and get an Umbreon before lv 30 so it can learn Confuse Ray.
