I remember buying Sapphire at Toys R Us, staring at the back of the box and realizing it's the exact same game as Emerald, and had my mom return it for Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team. I also bought Black 2 on release day but I was falling out of Pokemon at the time and really only played wi-fi battles on it with teams I made with pokegen. I own almost all of the non-switch games now but I bought them secondhand years later
