>>54131294>>54131298Fuck you guys, the best part about Pokémon is that the journey has elements that transfer to an experience you can have with other people. Battles are integral to its sovl and should be handled better.
>>54130906All they need to do to make Pokémon the best version of itself is reduce RNG. I know people will hate this and it's not perfect, but:
1. Get rid of accuracy. It sucks. Instead, multiply all current moves' power by their accuracy and change frequency of their secondary effect, which I'll explain next. As for status moves that can miss, they just shouldn't. If you don't like getting Thunder Waved or Toxic'd, have mons that are immune in the teambuilder.
2. Make percentage a guarantee 1 in X turns instead of a true percentage. It's guaranteed to happen 1 in X times it's used and will not happen after that. This means no multiple crits, but you can also plan around getting a crit when something sets up with a defensive stat. No multiple flinches to randomly lock you out of a game. The same thing applies to full para. A lot of these should be tweaked to 1 in 4 or so based on the flow of battle in my experience, then maybe multiplied by 2 in doubles since it's less likely anything sticks around.
3. Make Freeze the special counterpart to burn. As it stands, it's ridiculous when it happens and usually just means your shit is dead. It also doesn't make sense for Special not to have something that nerfs it and provides a practical reason to carry moves that thaw.
4. Change sleep to be equal to rest. It's unintuitive for them to not use the same timer and regular sleep is pretty similar to freeze, though less annoying because it doesn't randomly proc off attacks (besides H-Sneasel's).
I think you could just make a little symbol with a number to keep track of them all. If a move is used that can para, but doesn't on the turn it's used and does 1 in 4 turns, you can put a 3 next to a lightning bolt indicating that it will within the next 3 turns.
