Even just counting the ones in SV alone (430~ or so), every Pokemon has 2-5 attack animations, and entrance animation, a fainting animation, and two different "damaged" animations. A massive amount of these are either new or touched up too (even for mons as recent as Gen 8 too, i.e Inteleon having a new physical attack animation where it does a backhanded strike), so can't just flatly say they reused all of it.
This isn't even accounting for special conditions they added, like flying battle animations for grounded mons capable of flight, grounded battle animations for mons who used to always be flying, and swimming battle animations for the mons it makes sense to battle in water with.
For as rough as SV came out, I feel like the scale of the animation work that actually went into the Pokemon for what must've been a shitty tight deadline is pretty commendable.
