I think the thing that bothers me the most is that they're sets for actually no reason, we should 100% be able to mix and match parts from each uniforms. Like the orange pants are still really gaudy but I'd rather wear them on the Summer and Autumn outfits than shorts.

The only issue with gen 6 is that you couldn't remove your hat. Its customization was way better than later games because the boys' options weren't so gimped.

Uniforms should be only mandatory on school grounds. You should've been able to use whatever outside.

This is by far the most utterly failed design decision in gen 9. Make the games about going to school and have uniforms, okay, except they made the uniforms look like shit and be extremelly inflexible about looking like shit. Hopefully they're never returning.

Gen 7 customization was fucking awful. The quality and variety were piss-poor.
And that things like dying clothes was locked behind the fuck-awful plaza made it even worse.
